You missed a big ingredient in bass playing.....before going on with scale notes....you need to use the fith degree of each chords.

If there is something really standard in bass playing it's that bass players use Root and fith degree of each chords to jam or play along. Ex.: Am root: A 5th: E

Then you mix it up with scales or passing tone to get from root to fith and to next chord.

If you ever do a correction of this exercise include it!
