I'd be more inclined in calling this some sort of chaotic prog, but I gotta say some of the ideas here are excellent, unfortunately some weren't pulled off as well as they could have been, notably.. the trombone part in the Verse 1 to me sounded really weird at certain points, and not weird in the good way, more like without direction and out of place.

My highlights of this tune, Chorus 1/2 - Holy amazing batman, I thought this sounded so damn cool. The Interlude also, very cool to me, nicely fringing on harmonious and dissonant.

All the solos up to bar 103 were sweet, wasn't sure about the last 2 bars of the sax solo though, sounded a bit anti climatic you know.

Bar 120-121, awesome ending, coulnd't be better.

And well... the wtf part, I have little to say - if you wanted a nice fruity sounding melody at the end of your chaotic calculations, well so be it. At least it sounds good.

The parts I didn't mention were all a bit hazy, so I think you could really polish those parts, and in the end pull off something really crazy.

Nice ideas man, glad to hear something different.

What stands out is that there's trumpet and trombone in this song. That is what I call epic win. The interlude sucks. The solo did not grab my attention to much and I feel like it didn't climax at all. The sax solo is another story. It's epic, but I still feel like it did not reach its climax. The ending was so good that i'm upping this from 4 to 4.5 That's exactly the type of stuff that gives me hope in GP compositions in general.

I read the word Chaotic and have to agree with it, in a positive way ;) !
Although I did not really like the melodies on verse parts the rest was great, nice solos, powerful riffs, original ideas, and the outro was awesome, sounds like an introduction to an epic song !.
Maybe some keys were too loud, especially during the solos, this sounded muddy (too many loud instruments at the same time).

4 stars

thanks for the feedback guys, and yes! you're right djoule and jazz, it sounds a little hazy and muddy and that's something i've always have troubles with (I don't know if this sentence was written properly, i've lost a lot of practice now that i'm not going to engligh classes).

Anyway, I feel I could have done something better with the equalization in some parts. And the trombone lines were suposed to be the vocals but then i tried to make something like an "american trio" (saxo, trumpet and trombone) but it was a little bothersome and i just decided to submmit the song.

Thanks again for the feedback :]

I have to say, I really like your theme.
I was listening just because I had time, and I really am stunned.
I really like the second Break and the Interlude.
The instrumentation was pretty good and the final was unexpected (I really like that)
If I could, I would rate with 3,5 Stars

Marvellous
you got a HUGE HUGE creativity and inspiration

your theme is perhaps the most inspired I've heard on the competition so far...
you realy blow my socks away (owe me a pair of socks). Even tough I don't like/even could hate this style, this song is something huge...
I hope you could take songs like this further in the future

5 stars, I declare

it's inspiring, how natural you sound despite using some odd key signatures... usually, when a gp composition uses odd signatures, it comes off as pretentious and fake in my eyes. but this just flows beautifully and doesn't sound restrained or forced...

this is not sickeningly complex music, just right when it comes to the "complexity" factor, and that is a huge plus - you created a song from rather simple elements, yet you managed to make it sound goddamn impressive. that is a tough thing to do, yet you managed effortlessly. congratulations...

I've got to say that this song is my winner now. not all of the entries are in, but this is a great tune and it would take a major earthquake to knock it from the throne it's occupying now. well done! take a fiver!

Now this is a real masterpiece, well paced, groovy, memorable. My favorite part was the crimsonesque riff at 63. Good job.

Very positive experience. I loved the mood of the song, and the chorus was super excellent. Bars 56-70 was a clear high point of the song. However a couple of things drew the song down, the melodies in the verses sounded off at times, the solo’s I didn’t really like (especially the sax solo was a let down), and the ending part ‘wtf?’ only worsened the overall impression for me. It didn’t fit at all, and if it was meant as a joke, it was a bad one.

Besides these points the song is excellent, great time signatures and changes. Good intensity throughout, great mood, and definitely a great first competition appearance. I’m looking out for you.
