The Angels

The Angels is an Australian hard rock band from Adelaide. It was formed in 1974 and was very successful in his country until the 1990s. It is known abroad as Angel City so as not to be confused with the American group Angel. In November 1970, the future member of the Angels, John Brewster on guitar, banjo, harp, choir and scratch board, and his brother Rick on violin, scratch board, jug, choir and percussion formed the Moonshine Jug and String Band, an acoustic group in Adelaide. Members are Craig Holden on guitar, Bob Petchell on banjo and harp, and Pete Thorpe on bass. In 1971, they were joined by the Irish Bernard "Doc Doc " Neeson on guitar and vocals (ex-the Innocents), art student and former army sergeant, who played locally under the name Doc Talbot >. The folk group plays on campuses and clubs>>>>. Holden left in 1972. In 1973, Spencer Tregloan joined the Moonshine Jug and String Band as a banjo, kazoo, judge, tuba and choir member. Later, the group renamed itself The Keystone Angels. In 1976, The Angels signed a contract with the Albert Productions label under the recommendations of Bon Scott and Malcolm Young (AC/DC). The band throws the name of Keystone and becomes simply Angels, and relocates to Sydney with Neeson on vocals and bass, King on drums, Rick on solo guitar and John Brewster on vocals and rhythm guitar>>>. The Angels' first single, Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again, was released in April 1976, which was produced by Vanda and Young>>>>. It is co-written by Brewsters and Neeson>'160; which is the first of the three singles versions they have published in their career. They appear for the first time on the local TV show Countdown. In August, King was replaced by Graham "Buzz Throckman">" Bidstrup at the drums>. In January 1977, Chris Bailey (ex-Red Angel Panic, Headband) joined the bass, allowing Neeson to devote himself to singing. Their second single, You're a Lady Now, was released in July 1977, followed a month later by their first album, The Angels - also produced and recorded at Vanda and Young at Albert Studios in Sydney. It includes a re-recorded version of Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again. Most of the songs are written by Neeson and the Brewster brothers.
