The Spotnicks

Swedish band of instrumental rock, the Spotnicks exist under this name since 1961. The group is still active in 2015. It knew a great international popularity in the years 1962 to 1964 while imposing itself like the most famous European instrumental band with the Shadows.

Spotnicks were first called "The Frazers". This quartet, formed in Gothenburg in 1958, then included:

The first times, The Frazers are limited to playing in clubs in Gothenburg and its region. As early as 1960 the band began recording, with Bo Winberg's hand-crafted material, pieces that would later be found on Spotnicks' albums. He met a manager and signed a contract with the Swedish record label Karusell, which in March 1961 published a first single single including Ghost Riders In the Sky and The Old Spinning Wheel. On this occasion, the band changes its name to Spotnicks while Bo Starander is now called Bob Lander.
