Lucybell

Lucybell is a Chilean rock band from Santiago. He is trained by Claudio Valenzuela (vocals and guitar), Eduardo Caces (bass and keyboards) and Miguel Foncea (drums). Their album Peces is certified gold in Chile with a title, Lunas, having been a great success. Currently, the group is based in Mexico.

Lucybell was trained in 1991 at the Facultad de Artes of the University of Chile. Marcelo Muñoz, Claudio Valenzuela and Gabriel Vigliensoni studied arts, and Francisco González the English. This is how they meet and begin to form the group, which is born of the musical tastes of its members, mainly the alternative British rock of this period. The band's name comes from the daughter of Elizabeth Fraser and Robin Guthrie, members of the Cocteau Twins.

Claudio Valenzuela (voice and guitar), Francisco González (drummer), Marcelo Muñoz (bass) and Gabriel Vigliensoni (keyboards) regroup in 1991 under the name of Lucybell. The beginnings date back to performances in the university musical circuit.

In 1992, Víctor Carrasco and Santiago Ramírez invite the group to participate in the sound track of the play Blue Moon. The same year, Emi Odeón invites them to participate in the compilation Grandes Valores Del Under with independent groups, such as La Secta, La Raza, Bandanimal and Prometidas. Lucybell participates with her first two recorded tracks: De sudor y tenderness and El Grito otoñal. In 1993, they participated in the compilation Con el corazón aquí (edited by the Asociación de Trabajadores del Rock) with the song De sudor y ternura. In 1994, the group signed a contract with EMI Music Chile for the production of their first album, called Peces.
