Phish is a progressive rock band formed in 1983 in Vermont composed of Trey Anastasio (guitar), Jon Fishman (drums), Mike Gordon (bass) and Page McConnell (keyboards).

Their music is characterized by their eclectic style, their improvisations and their humor. Most often presented as a progressive rock band or jazz-rock, they are, in the United States, the leaders of the Jam Band movement initiated in the 1960s by the Grateful Dead.

The different musical influences of each member can be found in their music: rock, jazz, rap, classical, country and reggae. Their compositions reflect all these influences and are always varied. Songwriter / chorus / solo pop songs sit side by side with long instrumental tracks written as small symphonies for rock band. Each period of their career has a particular style of composition and instrumentation.
