Ihsahn

Vegard Sverre Tveitan , better known by his stage name Ihsahn , born October 10, 1975, is a Norwegian musician.

An emblematic figure in the black metal scene, he was the founder, singer, principal guitarist, and keyboardist of the Emperor group, relaunched in 2014 for concerts. It is with him that he was recognized as a black metal figure of the 1990s.

At the age of 18, he co-wrote the album In the Nightside Eclipse, considered an absolute standard of black metal. After the band split, he focused on Peccatum, an avant-garde metal band he leads with his wife Ihriel. He also directs the label Mnemosyne Productions with the latter. In 2006, he released his first solo album, The Adversary. He collaborates again with his wife in 2007, during the folk project, Hardingrock. In May 2008, Ihsahn will release his second solo album entitled Angl then January 26, 2010 his third, After. His fourth album, Eremita, published on June 18, 2012 in Europe, seems to have for theme, beyond the loneliness agreed and its alienation in general, the life, the course and the ideas of the German philosopher of the XIX century Friedrich Nietzsche, as evidenced by the title of the album ("Ermite" in Italian) and the lyrics of the titles, and, above all, that the presence of the portrait of it (figured in the 'backwards' in the back of the album cover.
