2 Unlimited is a Dutch eurodance group from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Active in the early 1990s, representative of the Eurodance wave of the time. Jean-Paul de Coster and Phil Wilde meet for the first time in their city of Antwerp, Belgium, and their first collaboration under the name of Bizz Nizz results in a single titled Do not Miss The Party Line, which reaches the top 10 in the UK >>>. The two then decide to continue together.
They sign the label Byte Records (Belgium)>. In 1991, the dance piece Get Ready for this achieved international success. He reached 10> place in the Netherlands> and reached second place in the United Kingdom and Australia >>>. It even ranks 38> of the Billboard Hot 100 three years after its release>. The song, so very popular, becomes the official anthem of the NBA and will be included in films like Space Jam and Scooby-Doo in particular.
The title is also taken in episodes of the Simpson, especially in the episode Austère Homer, during a parade of the gay pride. Faced with this success, the producers decided to record a vocal version and formed a few months later the group which then consisted of two members: the singer Anita Doth and the rapper Ray Slijngaard, both Dutch, with whom the two producers re-record the title Get Ready for this.
