Thirty Seconds to Mars , commonly stylized 30 Seconds to Mars and also abbreviated 30STM or TSTM , is a American rock band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1998, the group consists of Jared Leto (vocals and guitar) and Shannon Leto (drums and percussion).
They have limited success with their debut album 30 Seconds to Mars (2002), which will have more than two million copies sold worldwide> . The group widens its audience significantly with the release of the second opus A Beautiful Lie (2005), sold four million albums and classified disc Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America>.
After a lawsuit filed by EMI and concluded with a new contract, the group released its third album, "This Is War", in December 2009>.
