8 Foot Sativa is formed when members Brent Fox and Gary Smith meet at Massey High School in Auckland, New Zealand. Both shared the same passion for death metal. Peter "Speed" Young from Kelston Boys' High School joins the group as a drummer. "Fat" Dave joins him on the guitar.
