Aborted is a brutal Belgian death metal band from Waregem, in the Flemish Region. The band was formed in 1995 by singer Sven de Caluwé. Their songs are mainly about death and violence, using a vocabulary often medical. The name of Aborted is decided to be first in the racks of CDs.
In 15 years of career and seven studio albums produced, Aborted is a world-famous brutal death metal band and one of the most famous underground bands on the European scene. The group has a fan base, which is named Aborted Army.
The group is formed during the year 1995> by the vocalist Sven de Caluwé. He is the only remaining member of the original formation. In 1998, the band released a first demo, entitled The Necrotorous Chronicles . The following year comes Aborted's first real studio album, The Purity of Perversion , whose mood is largely inspired by horror, or gore is omnipresent.
Aborted will then sign a contract with the label Listenable Records, or will release in 2001 the album "Engineering the Dead" , then the opus Goremageddon: The Saw and the Carnage Done . This album is the one that will reveal the group on the European metal scene. In 2005 released the album The Archaic Abattoir , which is promoted by the maxi The Haematobic EP , released sometime before. This album will be the last one released under the label Listenable Records. Aborted will later leave this label to sign with Century Media Records.
