Absynthe Minded is a Belgian jazz-rock band from Ghent.

Trained in Ghent in 1999, Absynthe Minded was originally a musical project by Bert Ostyn (guitar, vocals). He was quickly joined by Renaud Ghilbert (violin, trumpet), Jan Duthoy (piano, guitar) and Sergej Van Bouwel (bass, double bass). In 2002, the arrival of Jakob Nachtergaele came to complete the training that we know today.

After several demos, the group released in 2003 the EP History Makes Science Fiction, then the albums Acquired Taste in 2004 and New Day in 2005, the latter including their most famous title, "My heroics, part one". There Is Nothing (2007) and Absynthe Minded (2009) are both followed, soon after their releases, by best-of, respectively named Introducing and Fill Me Up. Introducing still contains a song not on any album, "Pretty Horny Flow".
