The band was formed in 2003 by brothers Joel and Ryan O'Keeffe >>>>>. Joel gets his first guitar at the age of 11, while at the same age Ryan hits his first drums >>>. Joel meets David Roads while they were both working at a hotel in Warrnambool, Australia. They each begin to bring their guitar back to work, making cows and working on song ideas during their breaks. Soon David Roads joined the O'Keeffe brothers in their "hut" (so named because it was a room outside the house) to play together. The bass player was first Adam Jacobson and then Justin Street after Ryan jostled him on his way home from a party. Justin Street told him he was playing bass and wanted to join a band. The four members move to Melbourne. Airbourne was born.
