Alastis

Alastis is a Swiss dark metal band from Sion in the Canton of Valais. He was formed in 1987 and disbanded in 2004, with a total of five albums.

Alastis was formed in 1987 as Fourth Reich. In 1989, the group changed its name to Alastis, which it derives from the executor of Hell. It consists of War D. on guitar, Zumof on vocals, Acronoise on drums and Masmise on bass. Shortly after Zumof's departure, War D. took on the role of guitarist and singer before the band released their first studio album This Just Law, to Head Not Found Records >>>.

Some problems of line-up occur before the band's signature to the label Adipocere Records to which they publish their second album, ... And Death Smiled, in 1995>. The following year, Alastis catches the attention of Century Media Records, which will allow them to be distributed in North America. The Other Side, their third album, is released in 1997, and is popularized in goth and black metal scenes. In the meantime, they are participating in the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany. In 1998, they released their fourth studio album, Revenge>.

War D. separates from his musicians in 2004 to explore other musical horizons. In 2010, we find him as producer and guitarist of the band The Corrosive Candy on an album produced by his own label, Alastis Records, label with which at the end of 2014 he produces and records the new album of Always the Same, band of the punk scene / Swiss rock of the 1990s.
