Anberlin is an American alternative rock band from Winter Haven, Florida. In 2007, the group consists of Stephen Christian (lead singer), bassist Deon Rexroat, lead guitarist Joseph Milligan, drummer Nathan Young and rhythm guitarist Christian McAlhaney.

Anberlin's members originally formed a group known as SaGoh 24/7, which was created in 1998. They released two studio albums before separating. Anberlin was formed in 2002, the year of signing with the semi-independent record label Tooth & Nail Records, which released their first album, Blueprints for the Black Market. In 2005, the group releases its second album, Never Take Friendship Personal, which sells more than 150,000 copies. Anberlin gives the United States more than 200 concerts a year. The band's third album, Cities, released in 2007, is their first album to reach the Top 20 on the Billboard 200 (Top 200 Best Selling Albums in the US), selling more than 34,000 copies in the first week and will significantly increase the popularity of this group.

After three studio albums and five years with their record label Tooth & Nail Records, Anberlin signed in August 2007 with Universal Republic, which has produced Amy Winehouse. In 2008, they released their new album and the first one with this record label, New Surrender. This album will rank 13> in the Billboard 200 and the single Feel Good Drag will reach the top of the Alternative Songs ranking after spending 29 weeks there. Before releasing their fifth album, Dark Is the Way, Light Is a Place, Anberlin had already sold more than 700,000 albums. Their sixth album, Vital, was released on October 16, 2012 followed by a compilation called Devotion, released a year later, featuring some new tracks, remixes and live tracks.

After 12 years of concerts in the United States and around the world, Anberlin announces on January 16, 2014, on their official website and social networks the end of the group. They have made a video where we hear each member say a word about their 12 years together and with their fans. They specify that this year 2014 will be the year of the release of their last studio album and their last world tour.
