Beastie Boys is an American hip-hop band from Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York. For most of its existence, the group consists of Michael "Mike D" Diamond, Adam "MCA" Yauch and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz. Several other musicians and disc jockeys, such as Michael "Mix Master Mike" Schwartz, also play in the group, some of them for a significant length of time, such as DJ Hurricane or Eric Bobo.
The band Beastie Boys began his career in hardcore punk in 1979, participating in the compilation "New York Thrash" .
