Beat crusaders

Beat Crusaders , stylized BEAT CRUSADERS , is a Japanese rock band. He alternates punk, pop and simple rock, and is influenced by Japanese artists of the 1980s. The band's success comes in part from his participation in the BECK manga soundtrack, and the opening credits of the anime namesake. Some clips were broadcast on MTV (Japanese Girl, Sensation ...), popularizing the group more.

Beat Crusaders, commonly abbreviated BECR, was formed in late 1997 by Toru Hidaka in the experimental vein of American independent lo-fi / rock>. The rest of the group joins him and they go together to play around Shimokitazawa (Tokyo). Their creative use of analog synthesizers and old Casitone, inspired by bands such as Weezer and The Rentals, and sometimes with the dynamism of snuff rock, turns them into a powerful group of melodic guitarists. At the end of 1998, Beat Crusaders is already recording songs.

Their activity continues with the release of a single, E.C.D.T., released in June the following year, which enters the independent charts in stores across Japan. A month later, their first mini-album, Howling Symphony of ... is published; he also enters the charts in various music magazines, which gives them a good boost. Because of the good reception from the press, they are courted by various alternative / independent groups, through pop, new wave, punk and ska. They record and release a second single, Firestarter, released in early 2000, and later the album All You Can Eat. They also participate in four compilations, publish their own EP covers, and a split entitled WXY, composed with the Japanese punk rock band Captain Hedgehog.

In August 2003, three of Beat Crusaders' original four members left the group, eventually forming a new group called Anita Chili Peppers. They leave alone Toru Hidaka who will later recruit four new members. The reason for the departure of the old members remains unknown. However, they do not seem to have left each other in bad terms, given that Hidaka used the masks of his former colleagues.
