Before the Dawn or BTD is a Finnish melodic death metal band. Formed in 1999 by multi-instrumentalist Tuomas Saukkonen, the band, formerly signed to the Nuclear Blast label, has a total of seven studio albums, a demo, a split, and an EP / DVD. This band is one of many that Tuomas Saukkonen is part of, it is also part of Bonegrinder (death metal), Dawn of Solace (gothic doom), The Final Harvest (death metal), Black Sun Aeon (gothic death).
In early 2013, Saukkonen announces that it is dissolving all the groups of which it is a part in order to create one and only one: Wolfheart.
The band was formed in 1999 by Tuomas Saukkonen as a solo project: "I made the first demo entirely" To Desire Part 1 < / span> and for the second, I had a friend who was playing drums for me. The album The Ghost is published in 2006>; however, this is another Tuomas solo project. With Lars and Juho as new permanent members, the band releases the album Deadlight in 2007>. The single Deadsong, published in February 2007, immediately reaches the 22> place of the Finnish Top 20>; for four months, he remains in the top 20. The single Faithless with Jone Nikula on the cover of the song Mouth for War Pantera reached the Top 20 during the week of July 15, 2007 >>>. During the recording of the fifth album, Soundscape of Silence, drummer Dani Miettinen leaves the band, who decides to leave the place vacant, with only a drummer for the concerts (eg Matti Auerkallio). Immediately after the release of the album in October 2008, Soundscape of Silence, remains at the top 20 of the Finnish rankings (# 14)>. They are joined by drummer Atte Palokangas (Agonizer). Atte becomes an official member in mid-2009, and Before the Dawn plays in support of Amorphis at their "Forging Europe Tour" at the end of 2009>.
