Ben howard

Ben Howard by his real name Benjamin John Howard is a British singer-songwriter born on April 24, 1987 in Totnes, Devon, England.

Ben was raised by a jeweler mother and an architect father who loves music and who had it bathed in the music of artists of the 1960s and 1970s, such as Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Richie Havens, Simon and Garfunkel, and guitarist John Martyn, who had a great influence on him.

At the age of 11, Howard was playing guitar with his sister and one of his girlfriends, India Bourne, who remains today a great collaborator of Howard, playing with Howard live and in the studio recordings.

Ben went to King Edward VI Community College in Totnes and Torquay Boys' Grammar School before studying journalism at Falmouth University College. He left school after six months to get into music.
