Beyond was a rock band formed in Hong Kong in 1983. The group's reputation quickly spread through Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia. They were also very popular in mainland China. The band has been, and still is, widely regarded as the most influential and popular rock band in Chinese music. In 1993, the founder and singer of the group, "Koma" Wong Ka-kui (黄家驹), dies as a result of an accidental fall in Japan. Despite Ka-Kui's death, Beyond continued to perform live and record studio albums. In 2005, remaining members Paul Wong (黃 貫 中), Wong Ka-keung (黃家強), and Yip Sai-Wing (葉世榮) decided to continue their solo career, and the Beyond group was officially disbanded following a last series of concerts called "Beyond, the story live".
