Bigwig

Bigwig is a punk rock and hardcore hardcore punk band from New Jersey.

Formed in 1995 and influenced by bands such as The Descendents, NOFX or Slayer, Bigwig is not long to get the talk of him with only two EP and concerts in New Jersey to his credit. During his lifetime, Bigwig has played with such bands as Pennywise, Less than Jake, Blink-182, The Ataris, The New Found Glory, No Use for a Name, NOFX, The Suicide Machines, Agnostic Front, Lagwagon, and Reel. Big Fish. In 1997, the band released their first album Unmerry Melodies on the label Fearless Records which allows them to shoot in the United States. In 1999, Bigwig left Fearless Records for Kung Fu Records and released his second album Stay Asleep.

After many changes within the group (only the singer guitarist Tom is present since the beginning) and a return on Fearless Records, the album Invitation to Tragedy appears in 2001 and shows a new facet of Bigwig, which passes of a punk melodic rock with sarcastic lyrics to a hardcore and melodic hardcore punk with much more committed lyrics. 2003 marks a big event for Bigwig who makes his first tour in Europe (including three concerts in France).

After several years of silence and new reshuffles, Bigwig released in 2006 Reclamation>, an album in the same vein as the previous one, technical, aggressive and melodic>.
