Black messiah

Black messiah Black Lips is an American garage rock band from Atlanta, Georgia.

The band was formed in 1999 in Dunwoody, Georgia, while guitarist Cole Alexander and bassist Jared Swilley left Renegades, and guitarist Ben Eberbaugh left The Reruns. Alexander and Swilley will be expelled from high school after the 1999 Columbine shooting as representing "danger" . Drummer Joe Bradley joins them a few months later. They released their first single in 2002. A few days before a tour in December 2002, guitarist Ben Eberbaugh was killed at the wheel by another drunk driver. The group decides to continue because Edderbaugh would have liked.

In December 2006, the Black Lips recorded a new album in Atlanta: Good Bad Not Evil. Pitchfork ranks it among the best records of the fall of 2007. It follows Los Valientes Del Mundo Nuevo (First album for Vice Records). The latter is a live Tijuana recorded in a bar prostitutes. The sound is particularly clear despite recording conditions for the least chaotic. Articles published in the American Press following Let It Bloom (2005) flourished (Spin, Stylus Magazine and Rolling Stone in particular). In March 2007, they were named "the hardest group" at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. The New York Times website is dedicated to a video report.

In 2009, 200 Million Thousand sounds like a homecoming. The quartet ensures the production of the album itself, that is to say, it can not be more minimalist. The tracks (including Again and Again, Short Fuse and Starting Over), which was the essence of their legendary Austin ancestors: The 13th Floor Elevators.
