Death metal,

Bolt Thrower is a British death metal band from Coventry, England. He formed in 1986 and released his first studio album Vinyl Solution label in 1988. He then moved to another label, Earache Records, label that will be successful group.

Before his separation in 2016, the band was in contract with Metal Blade Records. Bolt Thrower will forge a sound and a reputation despite frequent singer changes. Their texts deal exclusively with the war and are largely inspired (as well as their iconography) by the fictional worlds of Warhammer 40,000. Games Workshop also has them for a while produced via a subsidiary Warhammer Records.

Bolt Thrower was formed in September 1986 as a thrash / punk band, largely influenced by bands such as Slayer, Crass and Discharge. The band is founded by bassist Gavin Ward and guitarist Barry Thomson in a pub in Coventry during a hardcore punk concert. Soon after his training, Andrew Whale and Alan West join the group on drums and vocals, respectively. In April 1987, this line-up recorded the demo In Battle There Is No Law .
