Carlos Paredes (Coimbra, February 16, 1925 - Lisbon July 23, 2004), is a composer and virtuoso of the Portuguese guitar, instrument that traditionally accompanies fado.
Born on February 16, 1925 in Coimbra, Carlos Paredes comes from a family of musicians. It belongs to the generation of Portuguese artists who has helped to spread Fado, the traditional Portuguese song, around the world. A public servant in a Lisbon hospital until the early 1990s, Carlos Paredes had reconciled a professional activity with his music business. "People like to hear me play the guitar.
