Chrono Cross ( lang = "ja"> ク ロ ノ · ク ロ ス ) is a game role video, developed by Square Co., Ltd. (now Square Enix Co., Ltd.), released on PlayStation on November 18, 1999 in Japan and August 15, 2000 in North America.
The scenario of the game, following that of in 1995, on Super Nintendo, is centered on the theme of parallel worlds and uchronie . A young man, Serge, finds himself in a reality different from his own. The biggest difference is that he died there ten years ago. He then seeks to discover the causes of his survival as well as those of the divergence between the two realities.
Unlike Chrono Trigger , Chrono Cross is not developed by the " Dream Team from Square as a whole but by a part of the team behind Xenogears. The game is produced by Hiromichi Tanaka, known among others for Final Fantasy III and "Secret of Mana" . Among the developers who also worked on Chrono Trigger , we find the writer Masato Kato this time also director of the game, the composer Yasunori Mitsuda, and the artistic director Yasuyuki Honne. The character design is entrusted to the artist Nobuteru Yūki (Vision Escaflowne (Tenkū no Esukafurōne), Lodoss ...).
