Crash Test Dummies is a Winnipeg-based Canadian rock band whose biggest hit is the single named Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm, released in 1993.

The expression "crash test dummies" corresponds in French to shock test dummies.

Formed in 1989 in Canada, Crash Test Dummies distinguished itself in 1991 with a debut album, The Ghosts That Haunt Me, which reached the top spot on the Canadian charts, but did not cross borders. Their mix of rock, blues, folk and pop seduced the United States and the world from the following album in 1993, God Shuffled His Feet, co-produced by Jerry Harrison of the Talking Heads. The reason for success is the single Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm. This song will be used in the soundtrack of the movie Dumb & Dumber.
