Damageplan

Damageplan is an American nude metal band from Dallas, Texas. The band was active between 2003 and 2004. Following the demise of their Pantera band, brothers Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul Abbott wanted to start a new band. They recruit Pat Lachman from Halford and Bob Kakaha. Damageplan publishes its first and only album, New Found Power in the United States on February 10, 2004.

While Damageplan is promoting the album at a concert on December 8, 2004, a former Marine named Nathan Gale went on stage and killed Darrell, two members of the band's technical team and a spectator. Gale is then shot by a police officer.

In 2003, guitarist Dimebag Darrell and drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott face the challenges of the heavy metal band Pantera>. After the release of Pantera's album Reinventing the Steel in 2000, Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown begin to work on parallel projects without recording new songs from Pantera, and Darrell and Vinnie continue to write music. For them, it was time to move forward, after the separation of Pantera.

A demo of the song Crawl is sent to former Halford guitarist Pat Lachman who auditioned as a singer. Lachman is recruited and New Found Power is formed in early 2003 with former Jerry Cantrell guitarist Shawn Matthews, first bass, who will be replaced after the album by Bob Zilla >>>. During the scriptures, Vinnie reveals; "there was no limit ... we tried to diversify" , and Darrell explains that "we tried to push back limits>. The band changes name to Damageplan and decides to release a debut album, New Found Power>.
