Devotchka

DeVotchKa (name from Russian девочка, which means "girl") is a multi-instrumental American independent rock band, founded in 1997 by Nick Urata, Tom Hagerman, Jeanie Schroder and Shawn King and associate to the movement of Denver Sound.

The group became known to the American public by composing the music for the film Little Miss Sunshine (2006), which earned it the same year's Grammy Award for Best Film Music.

Arcade Fire, after seeing them on stage, advised them to record a cover of a piece of Siouxsie and the Banshees The Last Beat of My Heart.

Many of their songs are also part of the soundtrack of the film Rendez-vous l'été prochain (Jack Goes Boating).
