DMX Krew , born Edward Upton, is an electronic musician and creator of the Breakin 'Records label. His main musical influences come from the electronic music of the early 1980s, and he turned to electro after hearing Kraftwerk. Upton began recording in the mid-1990s, with his debut album Sound of the Street, released in 1996 on the Aphex Twin label, Rephlex. His sound palette, although broad, evolves mainly around an electro-pop style, pastichant with happiness and respect the bands new wave / synth-pop of the 1980s. His recent releases, like the two maxis The Collapse of the Wave Function , however, indicate a more serious and more experimental direction.
