Elfenlied . It originated in Austrian composer Hugo Wolf's lied ">" from "> Elfenlied , based on the homonymous poem by the German writer Eduard Mörike.

A thirteen-episode animated television series adaptation produced by Arms, Vap and Genco studios was broadcast between July and October 2004 on the AT-X channel, followed by an OAV on April 21, 2005 between episodes 10 and 11. In France, the anime is licensed by the publisher Kazé. It is available in 4 boxes containing for each a DVD with 4 episodes for the first and 3 episodes for the others, as well as a booklet on the series. Since 6 September 2011, the publisher has also been broadcasting the anime in legal and free streaming in VOSTFR and VF>. In December 2014, it is announced that the anime would return in Blu-ray at the publisher @Anime, and it was released on April 8, 2015>.
