Emmelie de forest

Emmelie Charlotte-Victoria de Forest , born February 28, 1993 in Randers, is a Danish singer.

She became known as Emmelie de Forest by winning the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2013, representing Denmark at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö with her song Only Teardrops>. During the competition, she first participates in the first semifinal of May 14, 2013 where she qualifies for the final on May 18, 2013. At this, she won the competition with 281 points and succeeds to Loreen, winner of the 2012 contest>.

She was born Emmelie Engström, of a Danish mother and a Swedish father, Ingvar Engström (1938-2010) who later took the name of De Forest>.

She was always told in her childhood, she says, that her grandfather was an illegitimate son of Edward VII of England and an Austrian princess, which would make her the great-great-grandchild.
