Everlast

Everlast , by his real name Erik Schrody , born August 18, 1969 in Valley Stream, NY, is an American rapper and singer. He is known to be the former leader of the House of Pain group. His musical style oscillates between blues, hip-hop and rock.

Early in his career, Everlast turned to hip-hop. He joined the Ice-T collective, Rhyme Syndicate, in the late 1980s. In 1990, he made his first album Forever Everlasting , which has some success with the underground scene. He then creates his own label and House of Pain, with Danny Boy and DJ Lethal. Two years later, the trio released Jump Around , which explodes musical rankings. The group stops in 1996 and then reformed in 2010.

After the sale of Tommy Boy Records label master tapes to Warner Bros. Records and its transformation into a dance label in 2002>, Everlast finds himself without a label before signing with Island / Def Jam in 2003. His fourth solo album, White Trash Beautiful is published in 2004, after almost four years of inactivity. Produced by Everlast and Dante Ross, and containing a homonymous single, White Trash Beautiful west described by AllMusic as "a an effective blend of hip-hop trope and bluesy strum>. "

In 2006, he created the collective La Coka Nostra, hip-hop group oriented hardcore rap with rock and blues accents on some tracks, with his former partners DJ Lethal (who joined Limp Bizkit after the separation of the group) and Danny Boy , join in addition Ill Bill (ex-Non Phixion) and Slaine. Their first EP 100% Pure Coka EP (only for download) and their first album A Brand You Can Trust , released the same year in 2009, the latter has some collaborations such as that of Sen Dog and Cypress Hill's B-Real, Snoop Dogg, Bun B, Psycho Realm's Sick Jacken, Immortal Technique. In parallel, he continues his solo career. Everlast left La Coka Nostra in 2012 to focus on her sick daughter.
