Flotsam and Jetsam is an American thrash metal band from Phoenix, Arizona. He is often associated with the name of Jason Newsted who was the first bassist before joining Metallica. In spite of promising beginnings with the albums Doomsday for the Deceiver and No Place for Disgrace , the group is struggling to break out of underground circles.
The band, whose original name was Paradox , was founded by drummer Kelly David-Smith and two guitarists until 1982, when bassist Jason Newsted joined the band. Jason came to Phoenix with his band Gangster,> assuming to continue in California, but the band split when they came to Phoenix>.
