Flyleaf is an American alternative metal band from Belton> and Temple, Texas. The group was previously known by several other names: Listen, Sporos, The Grove, and Passerby. They became popular in Texas under the name Passerby, but another group already owned the rights of the name, so they called themselves Flyleaf after signing with their publishing house.

The band played throughout the United States in 2003 until the release of its eponymous album Flyleaf in 2005. The album is certified platinum with a million copies sold. The group wins a survey conducted by Yahoo.com and named Yahoo! 'S Group of the Month Who's Next in March 2006; later, he won the "best artist" award at MTV on December 24, 2007 >>>. Flyleaf markets its second album, "Memento Mori" , on November 10, 2009, which reaches eighth place in the ranking Billboard .

Flyleaf's third album, New Horizons , was released on October 30, 2012. Shortly before the release of the album, singer Lacey Sturm announced her departure. Kristen May becomes de facto the new singer of the band.

From the start, Lacey Sturm plays with James Culpepper. Guitarists Jared Hartmann and Sameer Bhattacharya later join the group>. Bassist Pat Seals joins soon after leaving his band, The Grove. Under the original name of Passerby, the band released three extended plays in more than 100 local nights in Texas. In 2004, Passerby played a demo for the record label RCA Records in New York in the hope of being signed. RCA has no interest in the band, unlike the president of Octone Records. They sign with the label on January 7, 2004, and the official Octone website announces the band's arrival to the label. In March 2004, Flyleaf traveled through Seattle, Washington, to record an EP alongside Rick Parashar. Subsequently, the band went on tour with Skillet, Breaking Benjamin, Staind and 3 Doors Down to promote his eponymous EP. For reasons of copyright, the group is renamed Flyleaf in June 2004>. In October, the EP is marketed in magazin (under the name of Flyleaf group), with their first official single and video clip "Breathe Today" .
