For today

For Today is an American >>> Christian metalcore band from Sioux City, Iowa. Before his separation in 2016, the band is signed to the Nuclear Blast Records label. He has two EPs: Your Moment, Your Life, Your Time and Prevailer, and six studio albums: Ekklesia in 2008, Portraits in June 2009, Breaker in 2010, Immortal in 2012, Fight the Silence in 2014 and Wake in 2015.

For Today is formed in 2005 by Ryan Leitru, Mike Reynolds, David Morrison, and Jon Lauters. Lauters and singer Matt Tyler, who joins the band soon after its creation, (known as Madison Skylights) leave the group soon after, and are replaced by Mattie Montgomery (ex-Besieged) and Brennan Schaeuble. Schaeuble is replaced by Ryan's brother, Brandon. On April 1, 2008, they released their first album, produced by Facedown Records, Ekklesia >>>. Their second album, Portraits, was released on June 9, 2009, on the same label, and reached the 35th place of the Billboard Christian Albums Chart. Various biblical personalities are named on the album: the prophets Ezekiel, Joel, Elijah and Isaiah, and Nicodemus, Zacharias, Saul (Paul) of Tarsus and Immanuel (Jesus).

Following their signing at Razor & Tie, the group entered the studio on January 6, 2012 until February 8, 2012 at the Machine Shop in New Jersey. They also announce Will Putney to production. The first single of the album, Fearless, is released on March 16, 2012. They play headlining at the Fight the Silence Tour in support of their new album in March 2012 and tour with A Skylit Drive, Stick to Your Guns, MyChildren MyBride, and Make Me Famous>. The new album, Immortal, is published on May 29, 2012>. They play Warped Tour 2012>.

On June 15, 2012, drummer David Morrison retired from For Today for a mission to South America with Extreme Nazarene Ministries. David Puckett (formerly The Crimson Armada) will replace him on drums. Guitarist Mike Reynolds leaves the group in early 2013>. On April 2, 2013, the group announces a new EP four titles, Prevailer and a DVD retracing the course of the group>.
