Freedom Call is a German melodic power metal band from Nuremberg. The first album, titled Stairway to Fairyland was released shortly before 1999 and, on May 25, 1999, Freedom Call made its first concert appearance in France during Angra and Edguy groups tour.
In mid-January 2002, the new band began recording their new album Eternity . After a long break, The Circle of Life , was recorded between August and October 2004 and finally released in 2005. A new album Dimensions is published on April 20, 2007. On February 24, 2012 released the album Land of the Crimson Dawn . In 2014 released the new album "Beyond" , followed by Master of Light in 2016.
The group is formed in 1998 by Chris Bay and Dan Zimmermann>. They first record a six-song demo with producer Charlie Bauerfeind (who introduced the band to several record companies). The group is then completed by Ilker Ersin on bass and Sascha Gerstner on guitar. Ilker and Chris had played in the same group (Moon 'Doc) for a few years>.

At the end of August, Freedom Call records the five mini-LP tracks of the Taragon album, with new songs, such as Dancing with Tears in My Eyes , cover of the band Ultravox, or a new version of Tears of Taragon with Saxon singer Biff Byford. At the end of 1999, Freedom Call recorded his second album, "Crystal Empire" , which was released in early 2001.
