George strait

George Harvey Strait , born May 18, 1952 in Pearsall, Texas, is an American country music singer. Known for his honky tonk country western style, he is sometimes referred to as the "King of Country". Very popular in his country, he is one of the best record sellers in the world.

George Harvey Strait was born on May 18, 1952 in Pearsall, Texas. He grew up in Pearsall where his father, Byron Strait, was a professor of mathematics. He spent his childhood on a ranch where his family worked during weekends and holidays. At the age of 9, her father and mother, Doris Couser Strait, divorced. His mother moves with her sister, Percy. George and his brother were raised by their father.

George became interested in music when he was in high school where he played in a rock band.

He is married to Norma Strait.

He has a son, George Strait, Jr better known as "Bubba".

On June 25, 1986, their daughter, Jenifer, was killed in a car accident in San Marcos, Texas at the age of 13. His family has created a foundation, The Jenifer Lynn Strait Foundation.

On February 2, 2012, he became grandfather of a little boy, George H. Strait III, in tribute to his grandfather.
