Good riddance

Good riddance Good Riddance is an American melodic hardcore band from Santa Cruz, California. It is initially formed in 1986 and separated in 2007. The group is reforming in 2012.

The band has long been influenced by the old hardcore punk bands of the United States. They are now known for playing fast punk songs and catchy melodies. The lyrics of their songs range from politics to critical analyzes of American society leading up to alienation. They are also creators of slow and romantic songs. Russ Rankin (vocals) and Luke Pabich (guitar) played alongside State of Grace until the release of Decoy published in 1994. All the members are in parallel projects. Pabich and Sean Sellers (drums) play in Outlie, Chuck Platt (Bass) in I Want Out and Rankin plays with Only Crime. All members of the group are vegetarians. The group also supports PETA and the United States Green Party (US)>.

Note that their song "Darkest Days" is featured on the soundtrack of the NHL 07 ice hockey game, in which Russ Rankin is a recruiter>. On April 3, 2007, the band announces on its Myspace its separation>. The different members of the group nevertheless continue their activity in other groups.

On February 14, 2012, the band announces that they will return to service with a performance at the Groezrock festival in Meerhout in Belgium on April 29 and three dates in Spain for the Resurrection Festival on August 2, 3 and 4. According to Russ Rankin, Good Riddance is planning a studio debut at the end of 2014 for the recording of a new album. The album, entitled Peace in Our Time, is released in April 2015 at Fat Wreck Records>.
