Gotye (pronounced "Gautier"), from his birth name Wouter De Backer , born on 21 May 1980 in Bruges, is a singer-songwriter, singer and musician Belgian.
He is also part of the duet pop The Basics with Kris Schroeder, group that records four albums and occurs in parallel with Gotye between 2004 and 2010. The first single from the album Like Drawing Blood, certified gold, comes out in August 2006 and also becomes a success in the Netherlands.
On August 5, 2011 released a single from Making Mirrors album, Somebody That I Used to Know, in duet with New Zealand singer Kimbra and, thanks to this song, he enters the first place of Billboard Hot 100. title will be crowned "Record of the Year" at the 55> Grammy Awards, February 10, 2013.
