Heideroosjes

Heideroosjes is a Dutch punk rock band, Horst, Limburg. It is composed of Marco Roelofs (vocals), Frank Kleuskens (guitar), Fred Houben (bass) and Igor Hobus (percussion).

They sing in Dutch, English, German and Limburgish.

The group was formed in 1989, composed of Marco Roelofs (vocals, guitar, lyrics), Frank Kleuskens (guitar), Fred Houben (bass) and Igor Hobus (drums). The group members are from Horst and have known each other since high school. The formation of the group will never change.

The first two albums of the group, Noisy Fairytales in 1993, and Choice for a Lost Generation in 1994, are published by the independent label Fairytale Records. In their early days, between 1989 and 1994, the quartet built a solid reputation on stage. In 1995, Heideroosjes became popular outside the Netherlands at the Pinkpop festival. A few months later, they play at the Lowlands Festival. A year later, in 1996, the group played again at Pinkpop, this time on the main stage. The third album, Fifi, reached the musical rankings for more than six months.

As early as 1996, Heideroosjes focuses on other countries, starting with Belgium. After a few tours, the band continues in festivals such as Rock Werchter and Pukkelpop. In 1998, Heideroosjes signed a contract with the American label Epitaph Records. They then tour throughout Europe including The Offspring, Pennywise, The Misfits, Bad Religion and Less than Jake.
