Hoobastank

Hoobastank is an American alternative rock band from Agoura Hills, California.

The group was born in 1994 during "The Battle of The Bands", a famous Californian musical springboard for amateur bands. Douglas Robb and Dan Estrin compete on stage during the playoffs; then, impressed by each other, they decide to leave their respective groups. The duo is then joined by Markku Lappalainen and Chris Hesse.

Carried away by the grunge trend, the training happens very quickly at the Roxy Club of Los Angeles, one of the most prestigious halls in the United States. In 1998, they released their first album, They Sure Do not Make Basketball Shorts Like They Used To, the band is not yet called Hoobastank but Hoobustank. The glory is not yet at the rendezvous and the work runs out only 2000 copies.

At the time of the release of the album Hoobastank, the band has shot a lot with other bands such as: Papa Roach, Incubus, P.O.D. and many others. Doug Robb and Dan Estrin appear alongside Jacoby Shaddix and Dave Buckner of Papa Roach in Die Trying's Oxygen's gone clip.
