Huey Lewis and the News is an American pop rock band from San Francisco, California.
Lewis has released several albums with his band The News, from San Francisco. He previously played in the Clover band from 1972 to 1979. Huey Lewis and the News contributed to the soundtrack of the movie Back to the Future (1985) with their songs The Power of Love and Back in Time. Huey Lewis also plays a small role in the first Back to the Future, as a member of the jury (the one holding the megaphone) in a contest where Marty (Michael J. Fox) plays with his group. This scene is also ironic, since it signals to Marty that "this music is deafening" (Marty actually plays their title The Power of Love in instrumental ).
The third album of the group Sports, released in 1983 has sold more than 10 million copies in the United States alone. Then followed Fore! in 1986, from which are extracted the singles Stuck with You and Jacob's Ladder
