Iceage

Iceage is a Danish rock band from Copenhagen. The band plays music evolving between punk rock, post-punk, noise rock and no wave.

The group emerged in 2008 from the Copenhagen DIY scene. The group is formed originally from a trio of childhood friends> composed of guitarist Johan Surrballe Wieth, drummer Dan Kjær Nielsen, and singer, guitarist Elias Bender Rønnenfelt, they are joined later by bassist Jakob Tvilling Pless>.

They record their first album in four days>. This one, entitled New Brigade, is released in January 2011 in Denmark> on the Escho label>, then in the United States via the label What's Your Rupture>? It is distinguished by its constricted format, it lasts 25 minutes and contains 12 tracks. The album is well received by the critics, Rob Sheffield of the American magazine Rolling Stone ranks it among the ten best of the year 2011>. As a result, the group is on a nearly two-month tour of the United States. In 2012, the band signs on the label Matador Records. He publishes a second album called You're Nothing on February 18, 2013>. In July 2014, the band unveiled a new title called The Lord's Favorite and announced a North American tour starting in October. This single precedes the release of Plowing Into the Field of Love on October 6, 2014>
