João Gilberto , by his full name João Gilberto Prado Pereira de Oliveira, is a Brazilian musician born on June 10, 1931 in Juazeiro in the state of Bahia and died on July 6, 2019> in Rio de Janeiro> .

He is considered the main creator of the bossa nova. At the age of 14, his grandfather gave him his first guitar. At the age of 18, he left his native village to go to the big city of Salvador de Bahia. With a beginner contract, under the Odeon label, he recorded in 1958 three 78T.
