John 5 , born John William Lowery on July 31, 1971 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, USA, is a metal guitarist. He is known to the public for being the third guitarist of Marilyn Manson. His nickname comes from the time when he joined Marilyn Manson, he was then the fifth member to join the band and was given the pseudonym of John 5. Since 2005 he is the guitarist Rob Zombie. He is also the author of six solo albums including a remix (Remixploitation). Extensive artist, he has, among others, collaborated with Avril Lavigne, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Meat Loaf and David Lee Roth.

John began playing the guitar at the age of seven, after watching Buck Owens and Roy Clark's TV shows with his father. His parents encouraged their son as long as it did not interfere in his studies, they even accompanied him to the bars the night he was to play.
