She grew up in Georgia, then in Northern Ireland from the age of nine and in England, where she received British citizenship in August 2005.

His debut album, Call Off the Search, released in November 2003, reached the top of the charts in the UK. His second album, Piece by Piece released in September 2005, is also a huge success.

Ketevan Méloua was born in Kutaisi, Georgia in 1984. She spent most of her childhood in the capital Tbilisi and then in the city of Batumi. His father works there as a cardiologist but the living conditions of the Georgian population are deteriorating after the fall of the Soviet bloc. Her family migrated to Belfast in 1993 and to London in 1998. Katie Melua said she had a very happy childhood in Georgia, even though life was difficult.

At the age of 15, Katie Melua won a talent contest on British TV channel ITV, playing Without You, a popular Badfinger band title by Harry Nilsson.
