Lacrimas profundere

Lacrimas Profundere is a German Gothic / Gothic rock band from Waging am See, Traunstein, Bavaria.

Lacrimas Profundere was formed in 1993 by guitarist Oliver Schmid, originally under the name of Dark Eternity. Originally the band was more oriented by the death and doom metal>, their trademark was the use of a female voice and some elements of classical music. After having changed their name in the same year>, and with the arrival of the singer Anja Hötzendorfer, they attract enough attention to them, and can release their first album entitled ... and the Wings Embraced Us , in 1995. It is followed in 1997 by a second album, entitled The Birth of a Dream. After these two albums, the band signs with Napalm Records, for a total of five albums. A harpist is added to the original group, and they record the album Memorandum in 1999.

Burning: a Wish , published in 2001, is the first Lacrimas Profundere album to become popular in the international press. This album featured the removal of classical music, and the addition for the first time of a baritone voice from Oliver's brother, Christopher Schmid. This is how their first international tour took place, including countries from Europe as well as Latin America. The album Fall, I Will Follow was released in 2002. In May 2004, they signed a distribution agreement with Brainstorm Music Publishing, and provide for the Release of the album Ave End in June>.

In April 2005, they separate from the guitarist Christian Freitsmiedl after their German tour with The 69 Eyes, which is replaced by Tony Berger. He released the album Filthy Notes For Frozen Hearts in 2006. In April 2007, their singer, Christopher Schmid, leaves the band for "personal reasons" . They traveled Europe in 2007, first part of the group Apocalyptica. In 2008, the band released the album Songs from the Last View .
