Malefice is a British heavy metal band from Reading, Berkshire, England.
Malefice was formed in 2003 by fellow high school students - Dale Butler, Alex Vuskans, Craig Thomas and Craig Fenner - and debuted in musical compositions. They perform their first night at Rivermead Center Reading. It is from there that its popularity increases. With several tours between Reading and London, they managed to establish a contract for the release of their EP Relentless to the Hangman's Joke label. In early 2007, they signed to the label Anticulture Records. They then publish Entities produced by Dan Weller and Justin Hill of WellerHill at Craig in South Wales. The album is very well received by the British Metal Press. The group subsequently announced their resignation from the Anticulture label. After the release of the album, they participate in SikTh with DevilDriver and God Forbid, and also play alongside Soulfly.
In January 2008, they participate in Wedgewood Rooms Portsmouth, which is filmed and released in DVD format. In June 2008, Malefice opens the second stage of the prestigious Download Festival. In November 2008, Malefice announced on his Myspace official page his signature on Metal Blade Records. In February 2009, they released their second album Dawn of Reprisal . On September 12, 2008, they participate in Butserfest with Go: Audio and We Are the Ocean>. On September 26, 2009, they play in India at the annual festival Rendezvous of IIT Delhi.
In March 2010, the group appears in the game show "The Bubble" on the British channel BBC>. The following month, drummer Craig Thomas leaves the group, and is replaced by Chris Allan-Whyte>. Subsequently, Malefice also participates in the Jager stage Sonisphere. On August 2, 2011, they released their album Awaken The Tide . In 2012, they record a song with Marcus Hahnemann. In June 2012, they signed to Transcend Records>. Also the same year, they plan their first album distributed by Transcend, entitled Five >, which will be released later on April 28, 2013>.
