Mumford and Sons is a British traditional rock and music band from London, England. Formed in 2007, the group is composed of Marcus Mumford (singer, electric guitar and acoustic, drums), Ben Lovett (voice, keyboard, piano, synthesizer), Winston Marshall (voice, electric guitar, banjo) and Ted Dwane (voice, bass, contrabass).
The band has four studio albums: Sigh No More (2009), Babel (2012) and Wilder Mind (2015) and Delta (2018). The band also released two Live albums: Live at Shepherd's Bush Empire (2011) and The Road to Red Rocks (2012). The band has won numerous music awards over the course of their career, including the Brit Award for Best British Album in 2011 with Sigh No More, Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2013 with Babel> and a total of six nominations Grammy Award.
Mumford and Sons were formed in December 2007 by multi-instrumentalist Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall and Ted Dwane. Members play acoustic guitar, drums, keyboard, bass, and traditional folk instruments such as banjo, mandolin and resonator. The name of the group is inspired by the fact that Marcus Mumford was the most visible member, who organized the group's concerts.
The goal of the band members was to do something that would leave a trace in the history of music, without taking themselves too seriously. The first songs of the album were written in autumn 2007: White Blank Page and Awake My Soul. Marshall Winston says about their songs: "The subjects we write about are real, and we sing and play our music more passionately because we feel we have to do it. We like honest music>. "
