Nico Vega is an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California. He was trained in 2005 by the actor / musician Michael Peña who named the group in honor of his mother. The band singer Aja Volkman begins writing songs at her high school in Eugene, Oregon. In 2005, she moved to Los Angeles hoping to form a band. During one of these shows, she gets noticed by Michael Peña who offers to form a band with Rich Koehler. In 2007, Mike decided to leave the group to pursue his acting career and take care of his child, he is replaced by Dan Epand. In 2009, the band released their first album titled Nico Vega. In 2014, the group is working on their second album entitled Lead to Light released on July 22, 2014 at Five Seven Music>. It is co-produced by Dan Reynolds (Imagine Dragons), Tony Hoffer (Beck, Fitz and the Tantrums, M83) and Tim Edgar (Nico Vega). The single I Believe (Get Over Yourself) is co-written by Dan Reynolds>. Nico Vega will participate in I Believe (Get Over Yourself) at the Big Morning Buzz Live broadcast by VH1>. The song Lightning is co-written with the members of She Wants Revenge.
